Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein: The New Romance Report Comes With an Important Caveat

A new report says the Office Romance co-stars are seeing each other casually. Both previously denied dating, and neither has publicly confirmed the latest claim.

Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein spent months promoting a romantic comedy together, so the public had already been invited to imagine them as a couple before a new report reignited the question. A Page Six item published October 19 says the former Office Romance co-stars are casually dating, citing an unnamed source. The Daily Beast repeated the report the next day and said representatives had been contacted for comment. Neither actor has publicly confirmed the latest claim.

There is an important earlier chapter. During a June interview on Today, Lopez dismissed the dating speculation and Goldstein agreed. The two were promoting their film, where public chemistry is part of the work. In October, Lopez also joked on Watch What Happens Live that Goldstein was the best kisser she had worked with. A charming promotional anecdote is not the same thing as a public confirmation of a private relationship.

What the latest report actually says

The report’s central claim is limited: an unnamed source described the relationship as casual. Coverage also mentions the pair attending a Los Angeles gathering on October 16 and leaving in the same car. That detail can support a report that they were at the same event. It cannot, by itself, establish the nature of their relationship. Public figures deserve the same distinction between observation and inference that any person does.

The story has travelled quickly because the film gave audiences a ready-made romantic frame. Lopez plays an airline executive and Goldstein her new colleague in the Netflix comedy. Viewers know their characters, saw them appear together on a press tour, and have a familiar celebrity narrative to attach to them. The real people remain entitled to say as much or as little as they choose.

Let the facts stay larger than the guess

There is still a story here, but it is a story about reporting as much as romance. A source has made a claim. Earlier statements from both actors contradicted the idea that they were dating at that time. New public comments have not confirmed that circumstances changed. Good celebrity coverage should hold those facts together rather than turn a rumour into a settled announcement.

For now, the fairest summary is simple: Lopez and Goldstein are being reported as casually dating, but they have not publicly confirmed it. If either chooses to address the speculation, that statement will carry more weight than a photograph, an anonymous source or a playful answer about an on-screen kiss. Until then, the new report is intriguing, not conclusive.
